Yorkshire Rocking Horses
These beautiful Yorkhsire Rocking horses are handmade in Malton with the utmost love and care. The most amazing and unforgettable present for any child. I gave one to my son for his christening! They offer a restoration and repair service too and the workshop is like stepping back in time.
The Woodlark team – Mark Bennett and Helen Lowdell – are designers and makers of handmade traditional woodworking techniques with contemporary craftsmanship using only the finest materials, incorporating unusual and figured timbers from local sources.
Magpie Antiques is run by Gwynneth Warren, and is an Aladdin’s Cave of bric-a-brac. One never knows what you will find in the shop, which has in impressive double frontage. Gwynneth said: “Malton is a pretty town with lots of independent traders, which is part of its appeal. We don’t want to be another high street clone, we want to retain our individuality and charm.” Gwynneth has run Magpie Antiques for 25 years, and has a four-legged companion, Jet, to keep her company. Magpie Antiques is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays, 10.30pm to 4pm.
