11am – The Talbot Hotel – Head chef Dan Graham
Originally from near Hexham in Northumberland, Dan’s career has taken him the length and breadth of the country. His journey included training at Roux restaurants in London and working for such well known establishments as Le Gavroche where, he says, he was transformed from being a good chef to a great chef. A finalist and runner-up in the BBC series of Master Chef: The Professionals, Dan is well used to the limelight.
12pm – Paul Potts – Food 2 Remember
Paul Potts runs Food 2 Remember, the butchers shop in Talbot Yard. Paul will be sharing some of his secrets with us as he butchers half a lamb to show the various joints and different cuts you can get out of it and how best to use it.
1.30pm – Mrs Jam
Mrs Jam’s stall is a regular feature of the monthly food markets. Here Mrs Jam will be talking marmalades, jams and chutneys.
2.30pm – James McMillan – McMillans of Malton
If you haven’t visited McMillans of Malton yet then you really should pop in to see James who is a font of knowledge when it comes to specialist whiskey’s and gins. In this demo James will guide you through the history of whisky. You will discover the origin of whisky and taste some of the more quirky whisky available!
