Getting Here and General Information
Publicity: please note during the Malton Food Lovers Festival and Malton Monthly Food Markets, photographs and video footage will be taken for use in publicity and on related websites.
The main access to Malton is along the A64 from York or Scarborough and from the A169 from Pickering.
Parking – Park & Ride for £5 per car:
Festival parking is available for £5 at Riverside Meadow on the York Road, Orchard Field on Old Maltongate and Highfield Road. (Follow the festival parking signs to your nearest car park). Parking is subject to availability on a first come first served basis. Please note: The Showfield car park used in previous years is no longer available.
A free shuttle bus will run in to the town centre from all festival car parks. Shuttle buses start at 9.30am, the last bus returns to the car parks at 6.15pm.
Disabled parking is available in the town centre and also in Wentworth Street car park. Flat level access from Wentworth Street can be achieved by using the exit via Greengate, onto Princess Road and up to Spital Street. Click here to see an online map of Malton.

There is a direct train service to Malton on the Scarborough – York – Leeds – Manchester line. For travellers from further afield the best connections are made via York. Malton’s railway line is currently serviced by TransPennine Express, you can download the latest timetables by clicking here.
There are bus services to Malton from York, Scarborough, Pickering and Helmsley. The Yorkshire Coastliner timetables can be downloaded here. Both the bus and railway stations are just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre.
The nearest airport is Leeds Bradford International (LBA), which is 70 minutes by car
Coaches and Groups:
Coaches can park at Wentworth Street car park.
While some shops and venues in town do have steps, ramp access is available for the Milton Rooms. Stalls are at ground level. There is a disabled access toilet opposite The Shambles in the centre of Malton.
Accommodation in Malton:
There are cash points on Yorkersgate (Barclays & NatWest), on Market Place (HSBC) and two more on Wheelgate (TSB & Yorkshire Bank).
Dogs in Town:
Malton is a dog friendly town and your dog is most welcome. Well behaved dogs are also welcome on leads to the Malton Monthly Food Markets and food festivals.
Toilets, including disabled access, can be found opposite The Shambles, in the Market Place. There are additional toilets at the festival bar and at the shuttle bus drop off on Newgate.
