BBEERTOWN – GREAT TIME HAD BY ALL AT MALTON’S CRAFT BEER REVIVAL!
BEERTOWN took place on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd March at the Milton Rooms in Malton.
Organised by Bad Seed Brewery and Brass Castle, both from Malton, the weekend was a success, and Phil Saltonstall and Ian Goodall from Brass Castle sent the following feedback about the event.
“BEERTOWN was extremely well received and a great deal of fun. We’ve had some excellent feedback – as you’ve no doubt seen on social media. We served over 5000 measures of beer and cider over the two days, to around 700 visitors. The atmosphere in the Milton Rooms was fantastic and the whole event passed without a hitch. Besides cleaning-up and stowing bars, we now have to count up the monies and pay the bills – before we can pass all proceeds on to the nominated local charities.
“The overwhelming success of BEERTOWN can be put down to the sheer variety that we injected into the event. The beer range was truly stunning and showcased ales from across the UK – as well as Malton’s own! Music ranged from a dedicated DJ throughout, to folk music from The Shiznitz, raucous country from The Lumberjack Cowboy Heartbreak Trucking Company, indie hits from The Patron Saints and the brass of the marvellous Swinton & District Excelsior Band. Some have even remarked on social media that it was the first beer festival that they had been to where people were dancing around the bar! Meanwhile, we had excellent food available from Hayloft Foods, Malton Relish and The Haxby Baker. If that wasn’t enough – a magician wowed those folks who relaxed in the chill-out room with some close-up magic.
So it very much looks like BEERTOWN will be back next year! Finally – we’d like to say a huge thank you to the volunteers who staffed the doors and the bar, and without whom the event would not have been possible.”
